Auf den Spuren verlorener Identitäten
Sowjetische Kriegsgefangene im Stalag VII A Moosburg
Soviet prisoners of war suffered much worse conditions than the other prisoners during World War II. Although they constituted the second largest group in the POW camp Stalag VII A in Moosburg, their fates have so far often been considered only in generalized terms.
This publication, "Auf den Spuren verlorener Identitäten” (On the Trail of Lost Identities), shows the ideological situation and the precarious living conditions of the Soviet prisoners of war, as well as the particularities of Stalag VII A. How did the camp management oppose the notorious segregations? How did a resistance group - the B.S.W. - develop its effect beyond southern Bavaria, starting from the Moosburg camp? Newly discovered sources, or sources whose contents and statements have been examined for the first time, with thousands of registration numbers and meticulously kept documents, also open up a view of individual fates. The names of the dead are mentioned again for the first time in decades, and many a face is now visible again in all its individuality.
Three scientific contributions by historians Dr. Dominik Reither and Karl Rausch, Elke Abstiens, and art historian Christine Fößmeier approach the subject from both historical and human perspectives.

Internment Camp No 6 Moosburg – Ein Internierungslager in der US-Zone 1945-1948
The Moosburg internment camp existed from June 1945 to April 1948. Here, the Americans held functionaries of National Socialist Germany, as well as people they considered a threat to security and suspected war criminals. The author's new book is devoted to this hitherto little-researched topic of the postwar period. More ...

Unter Verdacht – Im Internierungslager Nr. 6 Moosburg 1945-1948
Mass murderers and resistance fighters - they were all in Internment Camp No 6 Moosburg. Why did this camp exist? What were the living conditions like? How were the internees treated and who was interned?
This book provides a brief overview of these and other topics based on extensive original sources. Numerous expressive pictures convey an impression of the situation in the camp.
The present book is based on a detailed publication, which was already published by the same author in 2021 under the title "Internment Camp No 6 Moosburg" (ISBN 978-3753482316).

Kunst besiegt den Krieg –
L’art avant toutes choses
Der französische Künstler Antoniucci Volti, Kriegsgefangener im Stalag VII A Moosburg –
L’artiste français Antoniucci Volti, prisonnier de guerre au Stalag VII A Moosbourg
Moosburg a.d. Isar was home to Stalag VII A, one of the largest POW camps of the Second World War. Among the more unusual of the numerous sources available here are some 140 works of art in the Moosburg municipal archives, including 14 drawings by the renowned French artist Antoniucci Volti, or "Volti" for short. His works of art, created in captivity during the war, which have received little attention up to now, including a remarkable relief stone, are described and examined here in detail for the first time.

Stalag VII A – mahn-mal
"mahn-mal" is a dispute about the former Stalag VII A Moosburg prisoner-of-war camp and the way its remains are treated in the urban landscape today. "mahn-mal" aims to remind people of the past and at the same time point the way to the future. Even today, many find it difficult to deal with the legacy of the Third Reich and the Second World War as soon as it becomes all too concrete with tangible legacies, especially the buildings.

Von Moosburg nach Majdanek
Der Weg polnischer Juden aus der Gefangenschaft in den Tod
Jewish soldiers in German custody were permanently in tension between the protected status as prisoners of war offered to them by the Geneva Convention and their complete lack of rights as Jews in the National Socialist sphere of power.
The prisoner of war camp Stalag VII A (Moosburg) was a stopover for 300 Polish-Jewish soldiers on their odyssey from the battlefields of Poland to death in the Majdanek extermination camp. Only one Jewish-Polish prisoner survived and appeared as a witness in the trial against Adolf Eichmann in 1961.
The book traces this path and presents the 301 Polish-Jewish prisoners of war using the index cards created by the Wehrmacht.
